Treatment

HIEMS

HIEMS (High-Intensity Electromagnetic Muscle Stimulation) is a non-invasive cosmetic treatment that uses electromagnetic waves to stimulate muscle contractions, which can result in localised fat loss and tone and firm the body.

Here are some general criteria that can help determine if you are a good candidate for HIEMS treatment:

  1. Age: HIEMS treatment is generally suitable for individuals in their 20s to 50s who have started to experience localised fat gain (love handles, arms & thighs) mild to moderate muscle laxity or loss of muscle tone.
  2. Skin and body condition: HIEMS treatment is suitable for individuals with healthy skin and a healthy body weight (BMI less than 30) who have areas of mild to moderate muscle laxity or loss of muscle tone.
  3. Expectations: HIEMS treatment is suitable for individuals who have realistic expectations about the results and understand that the effects are not permanent. It is also important to understand that HIEMS treatment is not a weight loss procedure and is not a substitute for a healthy diet and exercise routine.
  4. Medical history: HIEMS treatment may not be suitable for individuals with certain medical conditions, such as a pacemaker, metal implants, or epilepsy. It is important to discuss your medical history with us before the procedure.

Here is a brief guide if you have been recommended HIEMS treatment:

  1. Consultation: We will evaluate your weight, skin and body condition and determine if HIEMS treatment is a suitable treatment for you.
  2. Pre-procedure: There is usually no preparation required for HIEMS treatment. You should wear comfortable clothing and avoid eating a heavy meal before the procedure. For women treatment should be avoided during periods.
  3. Procedure: The procedure typically takes 30-60 minutes and is performed while you lie down. We will place special pads on the areas to be treated, which will emit electromagnetic waves to stimulate muscle contractions. You will feel a sensation of intense muscle contractions during the treatment. 6 to 8 sessions should be done over 3 to 4 weeks.
  4. Post-procedure: You may experience some mild soreness or discomfort after the procedure, but this should subside within a day or two. You should avoid strenuous exercise for at least a day after the procedure. There is no recovery time post treatment and you can resume your daily routine.
  5. Results: The results of HIEMS treatment can be seen in 6 weeks and can last up to  everal months, depending on the individual. Multiple treatments may be recommended for optimal results.
  6. Follow-up: You may need to schedule a follow-up appointment with your practitioner to monitor your progress and determine if any further treatment is needed.

It’s important to choose a qualified and experienced practitioner for HIEMS treatment, and to have realistic expectations about the results. You should also discuss any concerns or questions with us before the procedure.
